Prescreening questionnaires
Prescreening questions are asked when a candidate applies to a vacancy. They let you capture must-have information up front and filter out candidates who don't meet basic criteria — before you spend time on manual review.
Typical prescreening questions
- Are you legally authorised to work in [location]?
- What is your notice period?
- What are your salary expectations?
- Do you have [specific certification / years of experience]?
- Are you willing to relocate / work on-site?
Setting up prescreening
- Open the vacancy and go to its settings.
- Open the Prescreening section.
- Add questions. For each, choose the answer type (yes/no, multiple choice, text, number).
- Mark any question as a knockout if a wrong answer should automatically flag or reject the candidate.
- Save. Prescreening now applies to new applicants for this vacancy.

Reviewing prescreening answers
Candidates' answers appear in the applicant view. Knockout failures are flagged so you can spot ineligible candidates instantly. Use the answers to sort and filter your shortlist.
:::tip Keep it short A handful of sharp knockout questions filters far better than a long questionnaire that candidates abandon. Ask only what you truly need before a first review. :::
